SHOUT! Young Women with Voice was developed and delivered by Think+DO Tank for the Australian Women's Coalition between April 2012 - May 2013.
SHOUT! was designed to raise the volume on young women's voices in NSW and the ACT.
We worked closely with the Australian Women's Coalition (AWC) and local community groups to connect young women whose paths would otherwise not necessarily cross, and to support them to make something better in their local communities.... and to learn something about each other in the process.
SHOUT! built strong communities not only between the young women, but between their projects and other community organisations.
It aimed to help young women feel powerful by giving them a platform to see what they are capable of achieving, together!
SHOUT! made some noise in Bankstown, Liverpool, the ACT, Coffs Harbour and Wollongong. It produced seven community projects, a least three of which are still active more than a year after inception.
SHOUT! Young Women with Voice was supported by funding from the Australian Government, Department of Immigration and Citizenship through the Diversity & Social Cohesion Program. For more information visit www.immi.gov.au/living-in-australia.
